So I’m at work, being distracted by my computer.
Thinking of what should I write for the next blog.
I’m also trying to but a Christmas list for everyone for Christmas.
I should be doing my extra credit for econ cause I really need it.
But I’m just here at work, doing the normal things I do at work.
((i.e. myspace, phone calls, emails. Whatever…))
Today was different. It was a little different at work.
((well, at least at the other office, which I visit twice a week))
In the Office room we have 6 employees and the rest are spread out throughout the building. They are one of a kind. Everyone in here is at least as old as my mother, father and grandmother.
And today… it had hit me. Christmas is here. It’s coming just around the corner.
Last mass our sermon thought us to love and cherish each other for this Christmas.
Christmas is not all about what should I get for my special someone, but it’s a celebration of Christ. The 4 weeks of Advent. But by just listening to one’s warm heart, I saw what Christmas really is in the same point of view as what the sermon mentioned last Sunday.
I was asked by one of my co-workers to help decorate the tree in our office because she has been in a wheel chair and not being able to reach the top of the tree.
As I stood there being awed by the lights and amazed by how the silver and red ornaments would do to a simple lighted tree, my co-worker told me her story on why she loved Christmas and why she is so excited to decorate today.
Just imagine, around the same time this year…
To be a in a coma.
Not being able to be alive and festive or being around love ones during a special Christmas seasons.
Not being able to watch the Christmas lights flash on and off to the simple melody of Christmas charols.
Or not being able to see your family’s happy faces as everyone sits around the fire telling stories.
Well, my co-worker had a second chance. And this is going to be her first Christmas after her tragic illness. She believes that she has been blessed. And she knows that life goes by fast. And when its Christmas, its time to be festive and around love ones.
Ok, that’s all! |
